Carte Blanche
Getting reacquainted with our own autonomy
All,
As we officially bid adieu to June and a month focused on summer living, I wanted to pose a question before we head into a holiday weekend focused on freedom.
And that is, what does it mean to you to be free?
To be clear, I’m not posing this from a patriotic perspective (although that’s a relevant notion to keep in mind as we blow out the candles on our country’s 250th birthday), but rather from a personal one.
Do you live life on your own terms?
Are you aware of your access to possibility?
Do you feel unencumbered?
These are the topics we’ll be exploring in July (Monthly Lineup to land in your inbox on Sunday), as we hit on several common self-destructive patterns that impede our wellbeing.
It’s a theme I feel is best summed up by this quote from Meryl Streep:
“True freedom is understanding that we have a choice in who and what we allow to have power over us.”
So give it some thought.
And in the meantime, step away from the devices.
Let this weekend be practice for saying – and believing – that if it doesn’t pour you full, it can and will wait.
Here’s to you,
